Information

Hello! and welcome to the SanDiego Dragonboat Team 2011 blog.
It is our goal to provide you with valuable information about joining the SanDiegoDragonboat team-
There may be some things you are wondering about as you consider trying the sport.

  • First- its FUN! and very much a team sport as there are as few as 10 and as many as 20 people per boat competing and paddling together! That makes for some very interesting blending and timing challenges!
  • Its also a great place for meeting new people and networking.
  • Its very much a water sport, in that you will get wet- you wont be swimming wet, but splashing will happen;
  • Its very much a sprint sport- our races are 250, 500 and the occasional 1000meter distance. The fast-twitch muscles and your cardio will improve and get a great work out.
  • There is great opportunity for national and international travel. We have taken the team to places like Vancouver, Toronto Canada as well as CapeTown South Africa and Beijing China. The sport of Dragonboat racing is growing exponentially.
  • We workout almost year round, because we can- the weather here is perfect for what we do.
  • Dues are $150 per person per year
